It's almost one year that I suffer once in 2 months or so from this episose: Suddenly I feel uncomfortable with the view in front of me and I need to close my eyes and for few seconds I feel like black visions hit me inside my brain and in the mean time I sweat, but there is no pain. It feels like I am dying. Most of the time it happens in stresful days or events. And I have difficulties to sleep because my brain cannot stop thinking. Does anyone knows this experience?

Early this morning around 4:00 AM I was slowly awakening suddenly I saw a flash of brilliant light, then a loud explosion like one of those M80's but louder. I jumped up yelling to my spouse did you hear that loud explosion someone must have lit dynamite. Since we do have someone in our neighborhood that has lit such devices over the years I naturally thought it. But then suddenly I realize how could I see a flash of bright light from the front of the home when our room does not face the front. The light was really bright and seemingly went out small to a large spread something you'd see I'd think in a shot gun explosion at night. None of our neighbors house lights were on then I really began to wonder. I'm thinking some of the explosions I have heard might have come from my head.

What do I have in common with the people here? I am very, very psychic so much that I know when a major natural disaster is about to take place. I also dream about them it's like being there when I do experiencing the situation then it happens. We have under ground utilities here no transformers etc. Electrical energy i OFTEN touch light switches and they blow out immediately the bulbs. I've actually seen a blue flash when that happens re; my finger tips. I go through on average two to three bulbs a month due to it in some fixtures. I have been under stress this past few weeks. But it happens with or without stress I'm looking for common connections.

I too have had these trains and airplanes crashing through my head for a long, long time. Sometimes they are so intense that i think I'm having little strokes or a tumor growing in my head. I'm glad (and also sorry) to hear others explain the same condition. But I guess just knowing I'm not the only one does not offer much consolation, since no one can really say what causes it...

I have had this condition for a decade following surgery for a brain bleed/aneurysm. From loud bangs to random noises of furniture being dropped or cutlery on a table doors slamming voices and/or loud bangs; I am startled awake and when i close my eyes i see a flickering dot that in seconds settles down and disappears. I am pretty sure I am awoken anywhere from two to five or more times a night tho if the disturbance is mild, its forgotten. If its intense and multiple in a row, Sleep is elusive.

I do not sleep well because of pain caused by multiple illnesses.I am always exhausted and to get three consecutive hours of sleep is the norm. Was so tired this evening that I went to bed at 9pm. Woke up about half an hour ago after a massive bang shook me awake. Thought someone had broken my window and I was terrified. checked out the house,as I was convinced someone must have broken in.I live on my own and take lots of medication including morphine. But I do recall having a similar experience a few years ago. I immediately went onto the internet and did not expect to find anything about it. I was gobsmacked to find this site. Makes me feel less frightened.

Wow! I'm so glad I found this site I thought I was the only one! I usually have my explosion or gun shot when i've been asleep a while. I can dream 3 or 4 times a night but the 'noise' comes at the end of a dream and when i'm really relaxed, aware i'm relaxing and then 'BANG!' I literally sit up in bed and my heart is going ten to the dozen! They started about 6 months ago but now I know its not life threatening I can relax. I was worried the explosions would give me a heart attack! They are very frightening and dont half shock me.

I've spent years reading peoples comments on EHS and neck injuries seem to be a common thread. I started getting them after whiplash from a car accident. I think a combination of anxiety, too much or too little sleep and neck trauma can produce them. Unfortunately the science/technology isn't there yet, prob not in our lifetime. We just need to be grateful it isn't fatal (Some people have had it for over 50 years!) I'm personally just careful not to get too much or too little sleep, I avoid caffeine and medication and I'm careful not to put my neck out. I can go a year without one then suddenly I over do it physically, sleep in and have caffeine in the arvo and without a doubt that night I'll experience one, ahh!!

I,like most posting here have experienced this for about 10 years now.I'm not quite willing to accept that this is necessarily a "harmless" phenomena.Maybe there is truly something more to this, symptomatic of what exactly is my question.I would be very curious if this experience might have anything to do with an actual physical component such as shunting of blood, venous abnormalities, skeletal issues, nerve compression,???Is there any one with conditions like hypertension?neck injuries, blood vessel, vein or artery disorders or malformations,???Maybe this is a symptom of something yet to be diagnosed.I have recently been diagnosed with an unusual blood vessel disorder, have a pulmonary shunting due to malformations, liver issues, upper GI bleeding, and high blood pressure and still trying to figure out all the consequences after being not well for over 10 years.I also had neck trauma injury, dental issues and atypical hearing loss.I also have tinnitus.I'm sure there are many more people with this experience, its not something alot of people will discuss with their doctor because it sounds so crazy and if you do say anything about this you get the sense that after you leave the office the latest notation in your chart screams pyschotic!
