This presentation is the result of 4 months of work. I know it’s never going to be perfect, but consider it as a first step on the way towards medicine 2.0. On Tuesday, I presented this work to the professors at the Department of Human Genetics of Debrecen. And I thought I should make it public in English. I can’t be grateful enough to Ves Dimov and Bob Coffield, their presentations helped me a lot.

Great presentation Bertalan! I’ve actually been putting together some notes very similar to yours in my notebook and thinking of preparing something similar to present at my faculty. The internet is very poorly used here at Portuguese universities by students that are not in the information technology field.
Sadly, most of my fellow colleagues think the internet is Google, MSN messenger and music downloading…
Oh, I absolutely see your point. The situation is the same at us. That’s why I try to convince physicians, medstudents around me about the importance of web 2.0’s role in the future of medicine. That’s the first part of a series of presentations. I’m going to do the second one next week (about nephrology) and so on.

The same situation we have here in Indonesia. Many physicians and students think they don’t have enough time to search for medical resources in internet. But due the lack of up-to-date medical resources in developing countries, I think internet is a must.
