My Modern Life June 23, 2007

It’s so disappointing, but sometimes I really feel like this (anyway Learn would be better instead of Play):
- The presentations that I have to learn for my exams are all online.
- I read medical papers, blogs online.
- All of my documents are on my computer and I also use Google Docs.
- The future of personalized (and general) genetics belongs to the web.
- My hobby is the relationship between web 2.0 and medicine.
- I entertain myself through the net (videos, articles, Second Life)
- My bank, my insurance company are all online.
- I watch movies, listen to music through the web.
So I work, learn and nearly live online. Of course, I maintain a real life at the same time with more sport and friends. But I love this nightlife as well.
Do you have a web-based life?

No, my life is Unix-based. In the morning, the first thing I do, just after I open my eyes. I push the red switch, the power to the workstation. Then I push the on switch and head for breakfast, so that when I come back, I can log in, and begin my daily session. I use Vim for everything; almost everything I write in MediaWiki markup. I made a Vim syntax file with folding, so I can edit even long files conveniently.
There is no life without Vim.
Hi Berci, I’ve just tagged you with the latest “8 random facts about me” blog meme.
Feel free to ignore this comment (and delete it) if you are not interested.
My 8 random facts are up at my site, go give them a look.
Cheers,
Rick
