From Ameican College of Medical Genetics Annual Meeting 2007, there was an oral presentation about web resources on medical genetics, the presentor reviewed the accuracy, the velocity to find the answers, the coverage of four tools: uptodate, genetests, medscape and onother one I can’t remember. The result shown that accuracy is OK for uptodate and genetests , but no any source is appropriate for primary care practitioner who have a limitation of time to find informations. She suggested to develop more reliable and more practical tools for Primary Care doctor in the future.
I feel that UptoDate do not cover many issues in medical genetics and subject specific like Genetests is more appropriate to update knowledge in genetics and of course, not rely on any single source.
