I’ve recently come across an interesting web 2.0 startup (actually the winner of the Best European Startup 2.0 of 2007 award) that makes education easier via the web. There are only a few medicine/science-related videos, but I hope many more to come:

Sclipo is a social network to share knowledge through video and webcam. The content is 100% user-generated and evaluated. What’s unique about Sclipo is the webcam system, called SclipoLive. It offers teachers two distinct advantages compared to how-to video repositories like VideoJug:

1. To teach personalized classes live (how-to videos are, in the end, not customizable one-fits-all micro-lessons).

2. To make money (experts can charge for a live class, whereas user would hardly pay to watch a video).

Webcams will soon replace books and atlases, but we should strongly consider WHAT webcams we use. More about how to make a good choice here http://www.webcam-list.com/blog/2007/09/which-webcam-buying-guide.html
