Health 2.0 was an other conference I had no chance to attend, but at least we had fellow bloggers who informed us about all the things happening there in San Francisco. In Health 2.0 Wiki, we can read that:

  • perhaps 500 people present
  • many major health companies present, many startups, some VCs, Google/Yahoo/…
  • “unconference tables” during lunch got a lot of good comments. Perhaps next time, a second day could be organized as a real unconference?

Scott Shreeve, MD – Amazing conference! While it did not meet every need, we were able to demonstrate the incredible interest, excitement, and I think open the eyes of many people to the possibilities. I loved the fact that we had real companies out in front demonstrating real software that was trying to solve real problems. Again, the day was intended as an introduction to Health 2.0 and in this regard it was smashingly successful!

Here are some reports:

  • The Health Care Blog (one of the organizers) has a post about all the feedbacks of the blogosphere.
  • Our favourite health care lawyer (blawger), Bob Coffield has a detailed article including the agenda and the comments of the participants.
  • eHealth: the San Jose Mercury News took away from the conference the concern about the lack of solid business models for many of the products presented at the conference.
  • Organized Wisdom has also been presented.

Maybe next year…

I have heard a lot of good things about the Health 2.0 Conference. I am glad it is getting the attention that it deserves. If you would like to see more of the action you should visit http://icyou.com , there are a lot of great videos on there!

One really interesting site announced at the Health 2.0, that was not mentioned by the San Jose Mercury News is http://doublecheckmd.com . This site allows you to quickly and easily check to see that if any of the symptoms you are experiencing are a resulty of the drugs you are taking. The site is really easy to use and uses a form of ‘natural language technology’ that enables it to recognize the symptoms as you describe them.

The site is available for a beta preview right now. I would really like to hear what you have to say about it, I think it is going to help a lot of individuals and save lives. I hope you find it as exciting as I do!

Hi Bertalan,

Just wanted to give you a heads that http://www.doublecheckmd.com is now open in public beta. There were some really great results during the beta testing phase, in a group a little over 60 the system uncovered multiple adverse events and provided information that potentially may of have saved 2 lives. Just wanted to keep you in the loop.
