Pageflakes: The Teacher Edition December 8, 2007
Posted by Bertalan Meskó in Education, Web 2.0.trackback
I’ve recently been introduced to PageFlakes where there is a unique site totally dedicated to education. You really should check it out at teacher.pageflakes.com.
Pageflakes is your personalized homepage on the Web. Your favorite news, weather, sports, entertainment, photos, videos, music, email and much more – all on one page that you can access from anywhere. What’s more, you can collaborate on your page with your friends, or publish it to the entire world.
What kind of boxes do you get there?
- Google research (Google Scholar, etc.)
- Educational photos from Flickr
- You can subscribe to educational sites and blogs
- An online storage place (1GB)
- Educational bookmarks
- An own grade tracker
- An own teaching schedule
- And an own calendar
It’s like iGoogle, but it focuses perfectly on education.
Update: More PageFlakes about medicine and science:

Hi everybody!!!
A good example of Web 2.0 : http://www.uStart.org …
this website is designed for pepole who wants to have all informations like RSS, podcasts , weather , mails , dates of tv series , notes , etc… in the same page! Everything is customizable (bloc position, skins, … a real Web 2.0 page!)
I use it everyday
Enjoy!
This is interesing. Seems like iGoogle, doesn’t it?
Congratulation…
