Wikio: Better than Technorati? December 30, 2007

I’ve been using Technorati as a blogtracker for a long time now, but Wikio seems to be a perfect choice as well. Wikio is a personalized news portal that combines media sites and blogs, and now it has a new blog ranking.

For example, in the “Health” category, ScienceRoll is currently number 5. The ranking works like that:

The position of a blog in Wikio’s classification depends on the number and value of the links that point towards them. These links are dynamic, meaning that it’s a question of backlinks or posted links inside the items themselves.

It’s like you would mix Digg.com with Technorati in a new design. You can create your own personalized news page or watch what’s happening live.

Mashable had a long report about it: Wikio Launches the Rolls Royce of Memetrackers in the US
