International Stroke Conference: An Example to Follow March 1, 2008

The 2008 International Stroke Conference (being held February 20-22 in New Orleans, LA) is an example to follow for all the organizers of other conferences and meetings. Six science presentations are free to view through the American Heart Association’s website.
If you click on the slides, you’ll listen to the speaker while reading the text.
My favourite one was the Genome-wide SNP Linkage Screen for Intracranial Susceptibility Genes from Tatiana Foroud, Ph.D.
The next step will be when we will be able to listen to the presentations live online.

Cold Spring Harbor does this already. After the meeting, presentations are made available online, but access is time-restricted and limited to attendees of the meeting. It’s a great way to review the meeting after you get home. I can only hope this trend will spread.
