Karina S. Descartin at The Story of Healing blog has already written some essays about the role of media in medicine and she has always been interested in the opportunities web 2.0 can offer to medical professionals. Recently, she asked me to answer some of her questions. As these questions allowed me to describe almost my entire “blog story”, I think I should include this interview into my online CV. Thank you, Karina, for the nice interview!

It was my pleasure, Berci. Thanks again!
Hi Bertalan,
I’ve always been skeptical of the media’s reportage of medicine. For one, Pharma is such a big industry and such a vital advertiser for MANY MSM media organizations that you can’t avoid the fact that all of them rely/depend on the companies and can’t openly disparage them.
Second, the cost of drugs has precipitously risen in the last five years, far outpacing inflation. Luckily some of these things can be fixed, but drug sales still out-pace the costs of the Iraq War two- to three-fold, still.
