In Puerto Rico we need an Undergraduate degree in Science ( 4 years ) before going into Medical School which is 4 years. My mayor is in Biomedical Science, I get 1 course in Basic Genetics plus an advance course. Ones in Medical School its integrated in the Basic Science courses ( which is the first 2 years of Medical school ), there’s always the MD/PhD in Genetics.

Obviously Medicine is going to a while to study, but I feel the shortage of doctors all over the world is due to this 8+ years of study

Here in Honduras Medicine is an 8 year (2 more if youre going for a specialty) thing with only one semester for 1 course in basic genetics
