I have dozens of online projects (Second Life, two medical blogs, two blog carnivals, Wikipedia, etc.) so I spend quite a lot of time on the web. That’s why it’s so important to be efficient while being online. And the best tool in our hands is RescueTime.

  • understand how you’re spending your time
  • clobber procrastination & beat interruption overload
  • compare your productivity to your peers without giving up your privacy

Give it a try and let me know your feedback.

It can be helpful but you always have to have your computer on! How would you log time spent exercising in the gym?

SCG, That’s what its for. Time spent on line. Right?

Anyhow, Berci, do you recommend it or you are just presenting it? Because I do not think I have time to sit and learn how to use yet another application. :(

Oh one more thing. Doesn’t this add to the guys who are watching what you are doing on line? Google, Government, Firefox, yahoo tool bar, web accelerator, the guys hacking on your wireless network, and your DSL provider !!!!!!! :D

Actually, I’ve been using it for more than a week. I determined some aims (less time on GMail and non-work-related sites, etc). and it can watch and organize my online projects efficiently.

It’s really simple to use and quite useful. It does not handle breaks or other activities outside of the computer (ie when you answer the phone it still counts time for the currently running application) – and it’s defficult to separate project if you use the same apps for them
