Are you kidding me? Do you remember ScientificMatch.com? Now GenePartner just launched its service:

GenePartner is a formula to match men and women by analyzing specific genes in their DNA.

At GenePartner we are dedicated to help you find your ideal life partner. Our formula is based on research on hundreds of couples and analyzes the pattern of genetic combinations found in successful relationships. Using this formula we will determine the probability for a satisfying and long-lasting romantic relationship between two people.

It means you can find your “genetic partner” for $199. They focus on HLA (human leukocyte antigen) genes as:

In collaboration with the Swiss Institute for Behavioural Genetics, we tested a large number of individuals (both romantically involved couples and persons not in a relationship) for their HLA genes.

The GenePartner formula measures the genetic compatibility between two individuals and makes an accurate prediction of the strength of their basis for a long-lasting and fulfilling romantic relationship.

What else can be next in genetics?

Studies of humans and other animals infer a heterozygous selection mechanism operating on these loci as an explanation for this exceptional variability.[8] One credible mechanism is sexual selection in which females are able to detect males with different HLA relative to their own type.[9

if this is true, why use a consumer service to do what we do “naturally,” sniff out diverse sexual partners for a higher probability of genetic survival and propagation? what is an “accurate prediction of the strength of their basis for a long-lasting and fulfilling romantic relationship” exactly? accurate? romantic? GENETIC? most importantly, can you get a full refund when your accurate “prediction” is dead wrong? genetic counseling is extremely useful to already compatible couples hoping to understand the genetic “prediction” accurate or not, for their future offspring. sometimes, it leads to a high divorce rate but romance is not a genetically predictable commodity. yes, what will they “think” of next!

Wow. Unbelievable! How can they be sure to do the match? Any successful stories?

This is cool for those people who date online. You can find out everything else before you meet. But the personal chemistry is the part you only know if you meet in person…or if you do this test. And for some online daters meeting in person is not something you just want to rush into with just anyone.
