I’ve been preparing to write this announcement for months. Scienceroll is almost 2 years old and I thought it’s time to launch my online service. I’ve written hundreds and hundreds of posts about the impact of web 2.0 on medicine, healthcare, medical education and communication. I’m always saying e-patients would change the way medicine is practiced and healthcare is delivered. And physicians of the 21st century must be qualified to meet their expectations.
Now I’m building a bridge between physicians and e-patients. This bridge is called Webicina.com.

Webicina is an online service created by Bertalan Mesko, the author of the award-winning medical blog, Scienceroll.com, and aims to help physicians enter the web 2.0 era with personalized Medicine 2.0 Packages; step-by-step tutorials; webinars and online image building solutions.
I will launch it really soon and hope it will help doctors enter the web 2.0 era. This equation may help how to describe the service I will provide.

And of course, your suggestions and thoughts are really welcome.

Wow, this is very cool. Congratulations Bertalan and best wishes for your success. You are clearly at the leading edge of a major trend here.
[warning; transparent plug ahead] Of course online medicine is going to rely on digital representations of medical data. Each medical subdiscipline is being challenged to figure out how best to acquire, view, manage, and distribute the data from their modality in digital form. Aperio (www.aperio.com) is the leader in providing solutions for digitizing Pathology information, viewing and analyzing those data, and distributing them online.
We look forward to working with you on this venture to help physicians and their patients share digital pathology information.
Ole, thank you! I know Aperio well and I’m looking forward to finding partners for Webicina in the very near future.
Hi Berci!
Congratulations! Your blog has truly evolved into something equally if not more wonderful.
I tried registering and it would not seem to accept my email address. It would say please enter a valid email address which I did. Thanks!

Karina,
Thank you! I don’t know why it didn’t work for you. I registered you anyway.
Berci
Hmm… I’m missing some more information what I can expect inside before giving may email away…
How about a list of features, video…
Berci, Wow, that’s cool! You are leading the way of the 21st century medicine. Congratulations!
Good luck with your new project
Yes, shouldn’t there be more info about the service before someone signs up? Something like a “help” or “FAQ” page?
Your contributions to medicine of the future are very valuable. I am going to translate a lot of your papers to spanish.
Thank you so much for the encouragement! I will come up with much more details soon.
Congratulations, Berci! Best of luck on your new venture. Let me know how I can help.
