Thanks, Berci. I sure hope to spend time with you before long – hello from Bilbao, Spain, where I had dinner tonight with @LuisLuque, @Bacigalupe and @AskManny, discussing the university summer course where we’re all teaching on Tuesday.
Of course having one’s TEDx talk posted in “big TED” is an unspeakably great thrill. What’s more gratifying, though, is the incredible spread that the “Let Patients Help” message is achieving. It went live at noon Wednesday (Boston time), hit 50,000 views in the first 24 hours, another 16 in the next day, and is currently at 78,000 views. I imagine this has multiplied (by ten!) the number of people who ever HEARD the word “e-patient.”
I also know that I’m stirring some stuff up , because in the “Rate / View All Ratings” screen, in addition to all the “Inspiring” etc, we have a fair number of “obnoxious” and “unconvincing.”
For those who haven’t seen it, here is the 2 minute video message I recorded last year for Berci’s students about what Medicine 2.0 is to me.
