This is a great general rule. The Clinical Cases and Images blog shared a video in which the Dartmouth Hitchcock health care system described how employees should use social media.

I personally think that this video is really good as a Dial Doctors employee. Noticed what I did there? I think funny and short videos like this one can help clarify what is or isn’t allowed in social media. Young students or employees need a lot more help because they are used to displaying their every thought or action online for the world to see. I think that they should also include the consequences of committing these mistakes. It’s important for people to know how far could something like this affect their lives
I agree with you laura, one should alway think of the consequences of posting something personal or distracting to others because it stays there forever.
