The Innovation of Loneliness: Everyone Using Social Media Should Watch This Video

I will show this video to all medical students who attend my “Social Media in Medicine” course at Semmelweis Medical School. I think it will help them understand the offline-online balance.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I felt with social media our actual genuine and true social interactions were declining and people were actually becoming asocial instead of more social.

    This video summarizes it all!
    Like you said I think keeping the balance is extremely important!
    Even makes me think that a completely asynchronous course may not be the way to go as it builds a wall between student-student interaction and student-professor interaction. I think the face-to-face, synchronous and/or blended approach is more approximate to facilitate learning as a team and to allow social interactions to take place in the process.
